Responsibility
7-Eleven®
will be responsible for:
- Fire
and Casualty Damage to Store and Equipment
- Any
Insurance Required by the Master Lease
- Liability
Claims
- Losses
to Inventory, Sales Receipts and Store Supplies caused by Robbery
or Burglary with Deductibles
- Losses
to Inventory and Store Supplies Caused by Fire to the Building
All other
losses are the responsibility of the franchisees. Franchisees may
secure insurance if desired, in addition to 7-Eleven's®
indemnification.
Insurance
Personal insurance is the franchisees' responsibility at their expense.
7-Eleven® will process through the open
account:
- Franchisees'
Life Insurance
- Franchisees'
Dependents Health & Accident Insurance
- Franchisees'
Employees Disability Insurance
Taxes
7-Eleven® pays taxes on land, building
and equipment (leased from 7-Eleven®).
Franchisees pay business and employer taxes.
7-Eleven®
assists in preparing necessary tax reports and returns (except franchisees
personal income tax and related returns).
Business
Licenses & Permits
Licenses and permits will be in franchisees' name (where permitted
by law) and at the franchisees' expense. Franchisees agree to obtain
permits and licenses and comply with applicable law. 7-Eleven®
assists with applications, renewals and reports.
As an
independent contractor, franchisees are responsible for their own
store employees'

- Wages
and Taxes
- Labor
Relations
- Personnel
Records
- Workmen's
Compensation Insurance
Good employees
are a vital part of franchisees' store operation.
