Welcome
The 21 Club was
formed in 1962. The purpose of the 21 Club was to provide a competitive
environment for the better junior golfers in Saginaw County. The 21 Club
is open to any qualified male or female golfers who have not reached their
21st birthday by September 1.
In each event of the
week's tour, the field will be limited to 21 players. Competition is based
on stroke play under USGA rules.
A point system of scoring is used under which a first place finisher will
be awarded 21 points. Successive places decrease in value by 1 point with
last place being awarded 1 point. At the close of the summer tour, the
player who has accumulated the most points will be the 21 Club Champion.
A runner-up and third place will be determined by the point system. Competition
is for points and automatic qualification for the next event. The top
10 scorers in each major event will automatically qualify for the following
event. Players who do not make the cut at 10 will be subject to an open
qualifying event the Thursday prior to the next scheduled tournament and
must compete for the open 11 places.
It takes a great deal
of work and the cooperation of many people to make an event truly first
class. We are committed to making this a premier junior golf program. We
expect that as a word travels about the 21 Club, many areas of the United
States will try to duplicate our program.
If you are currently
involved in the 21 Club in any capacity, your efforts are greatly appreciated.
If you are not involved and would like to be part of this program to help
future junior golf in Saginaw County, let us know!
